Tree
Spirits series
From ancient
times, man has venerated, even worshipped trees. In Japanese the word
for tree, 'Ki', also means spirit. Trees have a special place in our
world, providing us with life itself in the air we breathe, shade, shelter,
food, and wood for every need. Trees are also special for the spiritual
pleasure they give to man. Man is dwarfed by most trees; they are beautiful
even in old age and when gnarled and twisted by time they fill us with
awe as we gaze up into their inaccessible branches. A selection of three

Visions series
When man enters the
alien world of water, his untuned senses see a strange and bewildering
world where light and colour no longer obey the rules of the air above.
Earth-bound man is suddenly free to travel in a three dimensional space
in which plants and creatures move with ease and grace. A selection

Living
Rocks Series
The area
in which the artist lives is a treasure trove of beautiful rock formations
exposed to view by the sea or the weather. Largely gneiss, the rock is
sandstone that, full of various minerals, has been under enormous pressure,
heated and cooled by turn, twisted and upended by thousands of years of
geological turmoil and at last scraped and pushed around by ice, worn
and ground down by weather. The result is wonderful convolutions of pattern
and colour, shape and line, out of which, over the aeons, the plants and
animals and finally man has found life.
