'Save me from my desires', an artist said almost two decades ago. 'Embrace what you are and are not and what you want to be', has just answered another. Enjoy openly your secret desires. Place your hands on the softest needles of a hedgehog. Get to feel the strength of the long hair and take the roads covered by it. High in the mountains, enjoy a sexy sunset. Persuade still undiscovered creatures that they should love themselves the way they are. Let the exhausted horses leave the town, as everything has its own goal. Say, pictures exist to make intentions and dreams true and let them flourish in the thoughts and prints. Because the lines lead to the long-awaited fairy tale that has never been told. Since fairy-tales pleasantly reveal their meaning in our subconscious. Let love last for long.
Onia Baliukonyte
Incredible inner harmony. Natural accord of nature and soul. There is no feeling of aggression, no intention of self-imposing or egocentricity. What one can feel is existential human loneliness hidden deep inside … it is tragic, but not in a depressing or a destructive way. The solitude of things and souls seems to emerge without anybody's interference from a multitude of tiny graceful lines. The view is mundane and material, but also full of a different, mystical reality.
Julia Siurkute
The works by Egle is like a hymn to small things, things seemingly mundane, unimportant, dull. Her plots have something surrealist and fabulous, her prints have unexpected and extremely deft elements, but all this is never emphasized: as if happening by itself. Her attitude seems to be not unlike of a medieval artisan who says 'My Lord, I am just a tool in your hands'. There are no striking contrasts, no white-and -black conflict, but intentionally achieved grayness. These prints also lack breathtaking secrets, which might strike as very important. No doubt, all these poor creatures would like to tell their story, but the artist keeps her distance. She seems more impressed by Oriental way of structuring a view, where the image of the thing, its history, function and archetype become inconsequential, opening instead huge vistas of longing, sadness or philosophy.
