Limerick Printmakers Limerick Printmakers would like to invite you to submist work/proposals to
Limerick Printmakers Open Submission Print Show. The exhibition is open to
artists working in all areas of print e.g. digital print or mixed media
works with an element of print as well as traditional forms. Proposals are
welcome, provided a detailed proposal and samples of previous work are
included in the application.

Suzannah O'Reilly is this year's selector for open submission 2008. Suzannah
is a practising printmaker / artist and also a part time lecturer. She holds
an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from the Crawford College of Art and Design.
She has exhibited in many solo and group shows and her work is in many
public and private collections in Ireland, UK and USA.

This is a curious print competition which originated in the Steiner Print Workshop. Intent upon introducing the international woodprint exhibition to Japan, George Steiner organized the Kyoto Intenational Woodprint Association (KIWA) and it was a short step from there to their first international woodblock competition. They are now organizing their fourth edition for 2002. There is no entrance fee, but they keep the prints for their permanent collection. The prints are exhibited and circulated, and sales are possible.

This is a bi-annual prize with a rich history dating back to 1973, with technical direction by Madrid's prestigious and knowledgeable Britz Prinz Gallery. Prizes of 300,000 and 100,000 pesetas (approx. $1,500 and $500), selected works will be exhibited in the gallery in November and December. Works normally admitted in November and December. Size not to exceed 56 x 76 cm. Maximum edition: 25.

The foundation has just (May 2001) brought out its brochure for the year 2001 with information on their rich variety of awards and grants, featuring a principal award of 4,000,000 pesetas (€14,040) for a "creative project" to be mounted their Cubic Space (see their website). In addition they offer grants for research on Miró's life and work, for educational projects and for training and experimental printmaking.

A Japanese "washi" paper cooperative sponsors this series of print prizes "in order to further the development of washi and print culture." Lots of cash prizes, some extra ones if work is submitted on their papers.

Organized by the Graphic Artists Association of Lahti and the Lahti Art Museum. The association, founded in 1981, organized the first miniprint exhibit in Lahti in 1992.
