The Printmaker Who Fell for Scotland James initially studied art in Canada and is a graduate of the North Light Art School, USA. He was tutored by some of Canada's finest artists, including the last living member of the famous "Group of Seven" artists, A. J. Casson. In Canada, James was joint owner/operator of ShortHills Art Gallery from where he and his eight associated artists sold their work. While in the Caribbean Islands from 1996 to 2000 he painted colourful tropical scenes and florals. James moved to Scotland in February 2000 and travelled the country painting the beautiful scenery in both acrylic and watercolour. He now primarily paints acrylic and watercolour "up-close" florals in vibrant hues. James is writing a travel book of Scotland and its culture and cuisine and will exhibit 24 of his Scottish landscapes in the book. He is an associate of the United Society of Artists in London.
