Masha Schweitzer- The Reflective Printmaker
Masha Schweitzer
is a practicing artist - painter and printmaker - with work in public,
corporate and private collections in cities across North America and in
Great Britain, Ireland, Israel and France. She holds an MA degree in art
from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a board member
of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society and Los Angeles Printmaking Society
Foundation, and a founding member of Serigraphs West.
Ms. Schweitzer
was born in Poland, and lived in the Soviet Union, France, and Canada
before settling in the United States. She still travels extensively.
Since 1960, Ms. Schweitzer has taught studio art, and art history and
theory at various levels, from young children through college students
and senior adults. She is an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University
West and is an artist specialist for Performing Tree. Ms. Schweitzer has
been an artist-in-residence under grants from the California Arts Council
and the Getty Center for Education in the Arts.
She has won
numerous awards in juried exhibitions. During recent years she has had
work on exhibit in the Los Angeles area, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston,
Osaka, Japan, Taipei, Taiwan, Seoul, Korea, Jerusalem, Israel, Oslo, Norway,
and London, England.
Her work is in more than 60 private collections around the world, and
in more than 50 public collections, including Pepperdine University, Malibu,
California; AT&T and Encyclopaedia Britannica, Chicago, Illinois;
Gulf and Western Industries and Hospital Corporation of America, Nashville,
Tennessee; IBM and Trilant International, Dallas, Texas; and Societe Sym,
Paris, France.
