Brief Bio

I am from the USA and was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I studied art at the University of Minnesota and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a major in painting & drawing and a minor in sculpture & photography. From 2000 to 2003 I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii and since that time I have resided in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Though most of my energy in the past has been spent with painting and drawing I have in the last few years been developing my skills at digital printing. I have been using an Epson 4800 printer using a variety of high quality acid free papers and the Epson pigment based inks. Papers and inks are marketed as having a life of approximately 100 years before any observable deterioration. Prints are available on 8 ½"x 11" or 17"x 21" paper and in some cases on 17"wide rolls of paper or canvas with varying lengths. Borders on the prints vary from ½ to 1 inch depending on the print. Larger prints and prints or oil paintings on canvas are also available.

Flowers& Color

My most recent work involves paintings and prints using the organic and often playful shapes of flowering plants and incorporates many of the brilliant colors and color combinations found in them. My designs use flower and leaf shapes but they are not attempts to depict flowers or plants in the traditional sense.

I have flowers intriguing in a number of ways. They represent the reproductive and sensual part of nature. They speak of health and vitality and are both appealing and alluring. They have always been used to express affection as well as passion. We use them at wedding, funerals, birthdays and holidays and to simply brighten our homes and work places. As such they hold a special place in our lives. Their brilliant colors and delicate yet bold designs enrich our lives and have been the source of inspiration for my most recent work.
