The New York Printmaker

April Vollmer is an artist who lives and works on the lower east side of New York City. She received her MFA in printmaking from Hunter College in 1982. Obsessed with printmaking from an early age, she finds Japanese woodcut to be as challenging as it is rewarding. Her hanga woodcut prints have been shown internationally and she has taught hanga workshops at the Lower East Side Printshop, Horizons Craft Program and Pyramid Atlantic.
